PUZZLES, BOOKS, BARGAINS     (Cheri)

Despite the fact that I will almost always get something from the library if I can do that instead of spending money, we had a pile of books to offer up for sale, so we went to the biggest used-book store in town today.  Here's what we got for $2.93, after selling the books back:

(Eight books, a puzzle, and about 10 CD's!)

Would you believe me if I told you that these are all jigsaw puzzles?

No kidding; they are.

The first time I saw this sign, I thought someone was seriously under-informed.

Apparently it is actually a new trend in categorizing books, and I can see its merit, if it brings more readers to memoirs.

One great thing about North Carolina is that almost all of its libraries are inter-connected, giving us access to a huge quantity and variety of books ("dead-tree," audio, and electronic versions), and video that can't be obtained through streaming.  Almost all fiction, and a large percentage of nonfiction, is available in audio.

On our way home we stopped at someone's honor-system produce stand, where we spent another $3.00.

I am amazed at all those puzzles! WOW
I hope you borrowed something.

I still do puzzles on my computer every day.

This picture was actually from the store, and I did buy one, but your comment reminded me that the library has puzzles, too, so I'll have to check those out when I go by there next. I have about 10 or so that we brought with us, but they are somewhere in the "permanent house" stuff in the basement and I have only found two of them so far!

Yes, but not as good as the day that I actually *made* money by buying stuff at a garage sale. I meant to mention that here, but will include it in another post.

I would probably spend the rest of my life doing puzzles and reading books if I had no responsibilities! That store, so organized and plentiful would be my hangout!

Yes, I'm with you, Judy. We could sit together in a room and not talk for hours!
