Not traveling this post, just some happenings from the local area. Living in Pacific Grove, California, the only weather you really wondered about was if the grey bowl of fog over your head would last all week, or only for the next three days. Living in Monterey you would wonder for how many hours you would see blue sky before the grey came back. In North Carolina, the weather is much more active. Shortly before this picture was taken it was a sunny 88 degrees. In 12 minutes time the temperature dropped 12° and the rain was pounding down. After about 15 minutes of rain the sun came back out, the temperature started climbing again and the road was steaming. (And yes you do feel the humidity.) As the sun came out we headed downtown to go to XCaret Mexican Grill, a Mexican restaurant Cheri had found. Greeting you in the foyer was this figure: The bright colors and art of many different types are amazing. This is one of the pictures on the wall . . . Incredible color! The tabletops are all different, with many vignettes of life done in amazing detail: The detail in the eyes of this painting really caught my attention. The artist who did the paintings has really fantastic ability to catch expressions and details. Xcaret is on one end of the block. On the other end of the block: Yes, Cheri did scout this out, but we did not follow the advice on the wall:
