Our sink-dweller cat, Tonio, is like a pointer when he finds bugs. In the trailer, his quarry is ladybugs. When we got the trailer home from buying it in Virginia, we noticed that there were a few ladybugs in it. Each time we get in, we notice a few more. There is a little slider in the screen door, so we collect and open the slider to release them. You begin to see them everywhere. This was at my feet when we meandered around Chapel Hill today: Turns out it was a small red rock.
Yesterday Mark found 40 (ladybugs, that is). We are beginning to wonder if there is a nest in the walls. When Ramona and I were kids, we used to go camping, or picnicking, an hour or so into the foothills . . . maybe in the Penn Valley area? At the right time of the year, the ground, the trees, everything, was covered with ladybugs. Mark and I once saw the same sight just outside of Yosemite. If you are itchy-adverse, you won't want to see this next picture!

I loved seeing all of the ladybugs. They eat aphids so are beneficial.
