Just a couple of miles west of Hickory, NC, is where we stayed for a few days this week.  The trailer is backed into a spot just a few feet from a little river, a very peaceful place with lots of birds singing.  This is the view to the one side:

The little trail leading down to the river, a nice walking path:

Along the trail I spotted a bunch of little flowers, not much larger than my little finger.

A quick word about what we travel in and with.  The truck is a 2004 Dodge RAM 2500 with a Cummins diesel engine.  It does not have a lot of horsepower, but it does have lots of torque for pulling around the trailer.  I had the Lavender Brothers in Seaside CA do a bunch of work on it after I bought it to get it ready for pulling a trailer around.

We found the trailer after we moved back east, it in Virginia.  It is a 2014 Forest River Flagstaff.  It is 31 feet long and fully loaded, about 7,000 pounds.  You can find pictures of it, inside and out, by clicking here.

That is a lovely spot to park your trailer. Far into the wilderness and surrounded by bird songs.

I enjoy sharing your trip. Thank you

To get to this campground you have to bump along about a half mile of gravel road, but it was well worth it. We loved the peace and quite. The day we left was in a pouring rain and storm, I was quite soaked getting the trailer hooked to the truck and ready to go! Part of the adventure.

Tammy,

Thank you for your comments. I am loving having time to get my cameras back out and putting them into use again. I am having to relearn photography again!

We miss seeing you and hearing your laugh.
