You've heard about "blue-haired old ladies"? I love this one! These are a few more quilts from the QuiltFest held in Greenville, South Carolina a couple of weeks ago. The next three quilts were from an exhibit of quilts published in Inspired by Endangered Species, edited by Donna Marcinkowski DeSoto. The range of art-quilt methods used in these quilts was so inspiring; I am definitely purchasing the book for future reference. I loved the close-up details of the mice in this quilt: This next quilt made me think of another saying, attributed to various people: "When you want something done, ask a busy person." The artist, Luana Rubin, is the owner of the massive online fabric store eQuilter.com, and travels extensively to various quilt events, and leads tours. How does she quilt, too? I've started a magnolia quilt a couple of times, in classes with Ruth McDowell. Seeing this was inspiration to work on that project again: And this Beatles-inspired quilt reminds me of trying to convince my parents that my "yeah, yeah" was truly agreeing with them, twice!
