BLACK DOG SALVAGE     (Mark)

Cheri and I have enjoyed watching the Salvage Dogs show on television over the years.

It is still available to be seen on several platforms:

We were headed into Virginia, and the city of Roanoke was on the way, so we spent part of the afternoon browsing Black Dog Salvage yard and shop.

Prior to stopping at the salvage yard we fortified ourselves with . . . you guessed it, ice cream.  Cheri scouted the shop, Blue Cow Ice Cream.  We highly recommend their ice cream to anyone in the Roanoke area.  And it is only a few minutes away from Black Dog.

You can find almost anything in the shop or the outside yard.  I do not know what the metal used to make this Spartan helmet originally began life as, but it is a helmet now.

Or if you would like your weaponry to be a little more modern, how about a rocket?

If you would like to buy a table base, or 60, they have you covered:

What you see is only a portion of the stock.

You could spend all day just looking at the different antique knobs for cabinets.  Once again, what you see in the photograph is just a portion of what is available to see, and purchase if interested.

The colors and textures of these stacked drawers really caught my attention:

They had a number of different stacks like this located throughout the store.

I am old enough to remember dial phones, and party lines.  But none of the phones that I used were quite this old:

It would be interesting to know just how many people have looked in this mirror.  It certainly caught my attention.

You can see the different towns the shows highlighted for the fifth season of the show on this story board:

We have now been to four or five of the towns.

There were so many photo opportunities here; I believe Cheri is also going to post about our afternoon.

Seeing all of those antiques indoors and outdoors was very interesting.

Thank you.
