While coming back from a short drive to Lake Norman, we identified an ice cream emporium we wanted to try.  While Cheri took some photos after finishing her sample I decided to walk across the street and see what I could find in a five-minute session.  There was a little antiques store across the street, closed since it was Sunday

A teaser, to begin with . . . we are under contract to buy a new home!  More about that later this week.

We took a little jaunt today, to meet someone from Georgia who bought a trailer hitch from us.  (We'd thought we were going to buy a fifth-wheel, but when we found the great bumper-tow that we have, with all of its windows, we decided against the fifth-wheel, leaving us with a specialized hitch that we didn't need.)

We were near the historic towns of Davidson and Cornelius, where we hadn't been before, so of course we had to search out ice cream shops!

While out driving, about 30 miles from home in the Oak Ridge area, we found a mill that Cheri had wanted to see since having seen it written up in Garden and Gun magazine.

The bigger surprise than the torrential rain and thunder, which we've experienced pretty regularly here in Winston-Salem, was how delightful downtown Knoxville is.

We decided to take a short trip to Knoxville, Tennessee, as Cheri had a quilt show she wanted to see.  We decided to take the Mini Cooper rather than the travel trailer and truck.  As we settled into the AirBnB I was watching the clouds build up to the east of us.

We reserved a cute little place.
