I saw a picture of a mostly-turquoise scrap quilt on Pinterest the other day. (Unfortunately there was no information about the artist to give credit to.) I loved the fact that you could hide little treasures of fabric in it, and love it for years, in any condition. I really wanted to make one, but I'm in the midst of a couple of other quilt projects, and just started hand-piecing a quilt made entirely from 1930's fabrics that I've picked up over the years. (I should confess that saying I'm "in the midst of" a couple of other quilts means that I started that at least five years ago, and haven't worked on them in at least four!) Soooo, I kept looking at it, studying it before I went to sleep, then realized . . . we need a bedspread for our travel trailer! It came with one, but I don't do foofy, and really don't need a white bedspread for traveling. I thought that I could start amassing old shirts and dresses to cut up for the fabrics, because if you don't buy new fabrics, then you are avoiding part of the guilt of not finishing the other projects first. Silly me! These are just some of the turquoise fabrics that I pulled from my "stash," not counting the true small "scraps." Here is a snap of purples and a couple of greens that I will use for "pop." I calculated that there will be around 2,200 pieces, once done. Good thing I have a two-day unstructured quilting retreat to attend in a few weeks.

Hugs back to you, Laurie! I've got all of my pieces for this quilt cut out, and will begin working on it this week.
